How to fix a ‘Battery not reporting’ system error message?

Before you start the troubleshooting steps to get your IQ Battery back online, first check if your Gateway is online and connected to the internet.

Follow the steps below to get your IQ Battery back online.

  1. Wait for a few minutes.

    If an IQ Battery detects that it is disconnected from the Gateway, it will do a self-diagnostics and get itself connected back. The system usually recovers in 15 minutes. Momentary disruptions in communication are normal and are seen due to changes in environmental variables.

  2. Check if the IQ Battery State of Charge (SoC) is more than 5%.

    If you recently had a power outage at your home and/or your IQ Battery was extensively used, it will take some time for the batteries to charge up and report back to the Gateway. This is normal, and there is no action required from your end for your IQ Battery to come back online. The battery should come back online within the next 24 hours.

    If not, proceed to the next step of the troubleshooting.

  3. Reset the Zigbee communication kit

    All the IQ Batteries in your system communicate with the Gateway via Zigbee wireless technology. A reset of the Zigbee communication kit may help you get your IQ Battery to come back online.

    You will find the Zigbee communication kit connected to one of the USB ports of your Gateway. The ZigBee communication kit will look as shown in the below image.

    Once you have found your Gateway and the Zigbee communication kit, follow the below steps.

    1. First, power off your Gateway.

    2. The disconnect the Zigbee communication kit from the USB port of your Gateway, wait for 10 seconds and then connect it back.

    3. Power your Gateway back on and wait for 15 minutes for the Zigbee communication kit to re-establish a connection with all the IQ Batteries in your system.
